Overview

Kee Hiong Bak Kut Teh stands as a solid choice for lovers of traditional Chinese herbal soup, nestled in the heart of Cheras, Selangor. This humble eatery offers both the classic soup and the dry versions of Bak Kut Teh, a comforting harmony of tender pork ribs simmered with fragrant spices. The restaurant's location at Jalan C180/2 ensures easy access, making it a convenient spot for locals and visitors alike.

The star here is undoubted: the Bak Kut Teh. The soup variety captivates with its spicy, aromatic broth infused with herbs that gently warm the palate. While some ribs can be a tad tough, the deep, savory flavor of the broth largely redeems the dish. The dry Bak Kut Teh brings an exciting twist with its rich, saucy coating, perfect for those who appreciate a more concentrated taste.

A standout accompaniment is their yam rice—moist and fragrant, with just the right earthy undertone to complement the Bak Kut Teh. This side dish elevates the meal, adding texture and heartiness that lingers.

The dining experience is further enhanced by a welcoming atmosphere with good air conditioning, making it suitable for family gatherings and larger groups. Kee Hiong Bak Kut Teh also shows thoughtful care for diners who prefer milder flavors, accommodating children and those sensitive to spice and pepper.

Beyond the food, the restaurant offers a glimpse of cultural comfort with traditional Chinese teas and a layout that invites relaxed conversations. Customers frequently mention the appealing display of live fishes, adding a serene touch to the setting.

In sum, Kee Hiong Bak Kut Teh provides an authentic and satisfying Bak Kut Teh experience with room to shine on tenderness and seasoning. It promises a cozy spot for both Bak Kut Teh enthusiasts and families seeking a hearty meal in Cheras.

I ordered 2 pax claypot soup through Grabfood. But the portion didnt look like 2 pax or maybe it is that little. Other than that, the food was really delicious. I like it especially the yam rice. Yummy. I would find it perfect if it is slightly bit less tasty for dry bakuteh.

Both dry and soup bak kut teh taste good. Braised egg might needs to cook for longer time cause it’s taste like just normal hard boiled egg when it’s served.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant with a great ambiance and excellent air conditioning. The star of the meal was the Bakuteh meat, which consisted of tender ribs and a flavorful broth. Although the meat was cooked well, some of the ribs were a bit hard to chew. However, the taste of the broth more than made up for it. It was packed with delicious spices and aromatics, and had a savory flavor that left me wanting more. I felt that the broth could have used a little bit more salt to enhance the overall taste. Moving on to the dry version, it was a real treat. The meat was cooked to perfection and coated in a delicious sauce that added an extra layer of flavor. I enjoyed the dry version even more than the soup version, as it had a unique and distinct flavor profile. The yam rice that accompanied the Bakuteh was also a standout. It was well cooked and had a great texture, and the yam added a nice earthy flavor to the rice. It was tasty enough to be eaten on its own, but paired perfectly with the Bakuteh. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a good Bakuteh meal. The ambiance is great, the air conditioning is on point, and the Bakuteh and yam rice are absolutely delicious. While the ribs could have been a bit more tender and the broth could have used a bit more salt, these are small critiques that do not detract from the overall quality of the meal.
